The 12V protected switch shield for Arduino is a flexible evaluation board dedicated to drive loads. It comes with two devices that can be evaluated: BTS50005-1LUA (RDS(ON) 0.6 mΩ) the lowest ohmic smart high-side power switch available in the market and BTS50010-1LUA (RDS(ON) 1.0 mΩ) . Designed for relay and fuse replacement in power distribution and junction boxes, Power PROFET™ + 12V can drive resistive, capacitive and inductive loads (e.g. heating resistors, filter capacitors, motor, valves and pumps). The Power PROFET™ + family targets high current applications (e.g. ECU power feeds, auxiliary power outlets, PTC heaters, rear windows heaters) and applications with high switching cycles and high energy requirements (e.g. "start-stop" systems, electric brake vacuum pumps). This board is compatible with Infineon’s XMC1100 Boot Kit and the Arduino UNO form factor. The shield can be controlled either with the general logic IO-Ports of a microcontroller or with a PWM signal generated by a waveform generator. This shield offers a quick evaluation of the feature like the analog current feedback and all the protections like short circuits.
