Reflective Optical Sensor, HOA2498 Series
The HOA 2498 series is made up of an infrared emitting diode and an NPN silicon phototransistor (HOA2498-001, -002) or photodarlington (HOA2498-003), which has been encased side-by-side on converging optical axes in a black thermoplastic housing. When a reflective object passes within its field of view the detector responds to the radiation from the IRED.

The HOA1881 series consists of an infrared emitting diode facing an NPN silicon phototransistor (HOA1881-011, -012) or photodarlington (HOA1881-013) encased in a black thermoplastic housing. Detector switching takes place whenever an opaque object passes through the slot between emitter and detector. The lead wires of minimum length 18.0" (457 mm) provide alternate electrical connection when PC board mounting is not possible.
