I'm a teacher and my kids keep breaking thermometers. I bought this as a replacement and one thing I love is that there isn't a ring at the top like many liquid thermometers. The loop sticks out and that's the one that keeps breaking and letting air bubbles in. This replacement has outlasted many others, so it's a win in my book!
