The TLE6389 step down (buck) dc-dc controller has a PWM/PFM control scheme that means the high percentage duty cycle gives a very low dropout voltage. The switching control will drive a P-Channel MOSFET externally to give up to 12.5W of output power. The TLE6389-3G V50 is set at 5V whereas the TLE6389-2GV is adjustable at 7V to 15V and can be shut down via the enable input decreasing the input current. The Controller has a wide input voltage range of up to 60 volts and has a fixed 360 KHz switching frequency.

They operates over a 3. 5V to 36V input voltage range with 42V input transient protection, and can operate in dropout condition by running at 95% duty cycle.
