Current Sensing Amplifiers

Current sensing circuits are used to measure the voltage by the time it outputs since that is directly proportional to the flowing power current. A resistor is made available to convert the not suitable current to a small voltage and, in the end, it amplifies that perfectly. Real-time overcurrent is being protected by these devices.

What to Consider When Choosing the Right Type of Current Sensing Amplifier? 

The sort of amplifier you select will depend on several parameters, including whether the measurement will be on the high or low side. The sensing resistor can be positioned either between the load and ground or between the supply voltage and the load. The first is known as "high-side sensing," and the second is known as " low-side sensing." High voltage current sensing circuits are perfect for applications like motor control and network routers since they have input ranges of up to +76V and down to -20V. Battery life is increased and prolonged with low power current detecting amplifiers.

How Does a Current Sensing Amplifier Function?

A current detecting amplifier operates based on Ohm's law. A voltage drop known as VSENSE is produced when load current runs through a shunt resistor (Rshunt) that is present on inputs. Typically, this voltage is low to reduce power dissipation losses.
