The thermocouple connector housing is made from a rugged glass-filled thermoplastic which is impact resistant and able to withstand high temperatures of up to 220°C. The contacts on this female connector accept flat polarised pins to ensure an accurate connection. The colour coded housing has the thermocouple type clearly indicated on the front for easy identification. What is a Thermocouple Connector? These thermocouple connectors are an accurate and convenient way of interconnecting your temperature sensing components. Using these connectors allows a chain to be formed from the measuring tip of your temperature sensor to the host computer or meter. It is important that all the components in the chain are made from the same thermocouple material to prevent any alteration or distortion of the original signal. RS PRO Stainless Steel Compression Fitting with BSPT Tapered Thread From RS PRO a high-quality 303 stainless steel compression fitting or compression gland for attaching the probe of your thermocouple or RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) securely into process fittings such as flange plates and thermowells. This stainless steel compression fitting also provides a quick and convenient way of securing your probe at the correct immersion depth into the process it is measuring. How Does a Compression fitting Work? A compression fitting comprises of an outer compression nut and an inner compression ring or ferrule also called an ’olive’. The male thread of the fitting is screwed into the thermowell or bulkhead. The probe is then inserted into the aperture at the top of the fitting to the required length. The outer compression nut is then tightened which forces the olive to compress around the outer sheath of the probe. The probe is then held securely in place and a tight seal provided.
