LT2020A-050K05, PiezoMotor

LT2020A-050K05, PiezoMotor

Piezo LEGS® Linear Twin 20N LT20 Series The LT20 is a compact yet strong linear motor for build-in original equipment manufacturer (OEM) applications characterised by its outstanding precision. It features predictable submicron, direct-drive motion without backlash with resolution down to single nanometre level or below. Lack of gear-heads and linear screws reduces the overall size so that the LT20 often fits where other motors will not. In place, it delivers up to 20 Ns force and its friction drive ensures full-force, power-off locking with no mechanical play or backlash. The motor can be integrated easily into an application using the drive rod mechanical adapter. The LT20 motor is also capable of moving in full steps (waveform) or partial (microsteps). Any 'move-and hold' application that requires high precision, instant response and low power consumption benefits from LT20’s Piezo LEGS® technology. Features and Benefits •Direct drive – Backlash free •Nanometre resolution •Simple drive electronics •No power draw in hold position •Quick response and high-speed dynamics •Mounts with M1.6 screws •Stainless steel motor •Long service life Product Application Information The LT20 linear motor has been designed for use in a large range of OEM applications, which is down to its high-speed dynamics and nanometre resolution. Ideally suited for move and hold applications or automatic adjustments. PiezoMotor PiezoMotor is a world-leading developer and manufacturer of groundbreaking micro motors based on piezoelectric materials. Simple, precise and small, the motors replace traditional technology and enable motorisation where it was not possible before. The motors’ performance include subnanometre positioning and high force in a small package. The motors can operate in vacuum and can be made non-magnetic. In Uppsala, Sweden, PiezoMotor has its own i...

PMD101, PiezoMotor

PMD101, PiezoMotor

Microstepping Driver PMD101 The PMD101 microstepping driver is a full featured 1-axis driver designed for use with Piezo LEGS® motors. It is able to determine a motors resolution down to the nanometre/microradian range and be used in demanding applications. It is possible to drive in closed-loop mode when reading back position from a position sensor. The PMD101 driver supports quadrature and analogue encoders and serial synchronous interface (SSI) sensors. By issuing a single command, it can guide the motor to the exact encoder count and parameter settings for ramping behaviour. This driver delivers up to 2048 micro-steps per waveform cycle. Waveforms optimised for speed, resolution or force are available. The unit communicates with the host through serial USB using ASCII commands. Features and Benefits •Nanometre resolution •Closed loop regulation •Open loop mode •General I/O •AC-DC adapter included Functions The driver controls the Piezo LEGS motor by feeding waveform signals which elongates and bends each of the piezo drive legs. The waveforms are specially designed to make the drive legs perform a precise walking motion. The motion of the drive legs is transferred via friction contact to a linear rod or to a rotary disc. For each waveform cycle, the Piezo LEGS motor takes one full step. The waveform step length is load dependant but in the range of a few micrometres for a linear Piezo LEGS motor. Rotary Piezo LEGS motors have their drive legs working on the perimeter of a drive disc. The waveform step angle depends on the diameter of the rotary motor but is less than one milliradian. The generated signal waveform is made up of many voltage target points in time. Each small voltage change moves the motor only by a fraction of a microstep. The PMD101 driver gives a maximum resolution of 2048 microsteps per full waveform step. Driver The ...

LR8012A-00K05, PiezoMotor

Rotary LEGS® Rotary 80 mNm LR80 The LR80 is a compact, high torque, direct-drive piezoelectric rotary motor for friction drive without backlash. Lack of gear-heads reduces the overall size so that LR80 often fits where other motors will not. In place, it delivers up to 80 mNm force and finds room in spaces too small for traditional motors. When in the hold position no power is consumed. The LR80 motor is also capable of moving in full steps (waveform) or partial (microsteps). Any 'move-and hold' application that requires high precision, instant response and low power consumption benefits from LR80’s Piezo LEGS® technology. Features and Benefits •Direct drive – Backlash free •Microradian resolution •No power draw in hold position •Quick response •Stainless steel motor •Long service life Product Application Information The LR80 linear motor has been designed for use in a large range of applications, which is down to its high-speed dynamics and microradian resolution. In Uppsala, Sweden, PiezoMotor has its own in-house high-volume manufacturing facility, R&D centre and headquarters. All major geographical markets are covered by a global distribution network and many leading multinational companies.
