Tag Fuses

Fuses are essential protective or safety devices ideal for protecting circuits and electrical devices from short circuits or overcurrent. Tag Fuses are types of metal tab fuse specifically ideal for general industrial applications such as motor and cable protection and power distribution. These fuses feature and are identified by a metal tab that extends from either a fuse center (center tag) or the end of the fuse (offset tag). In addition, they are available as a solid blade or with slots or holes to be mounted on holders.

Types of Tag Fuses:

There are several types of tag fuses; some of them include:

  • Centered Tag

These fuses feature a central blade or tag that provides an easy installation into open fuse bases. These tags are square or rectangular and come in various speed ranges, amperage, and voltage ratings.

  • Offset Tag

These fuses are cylindrical, with offset mounting tags at each base of the fuse. Like centered fuses, these fuses come in various speed ranges, amperage, and voltage ratings. In addition, the tags come as either solid or slotted.

  • Slotted Tag

Generally, slotted tag fuses have a circular shape; however, they can also be square-bodied. The tags can be offset or straight, and slotted tag fuses are available in varied speed ranges, voltage ratings, and amperes.

  • Bolted Tags

These fuses are cylindrical fuses with bracket fittings on either side for bolting into a fuse holder. They differ by their speed, tag orientation, size, and voltage ratings, which differ widely.

Fuse Marking Categories:

For notable characteristics and application purposes, fuses are marked with specified letters. These letters come in two numbers where the first letter denotes the breaking range while the second letter (in upper case) indicates the characteristics. For convenience, some examples of these letters include:

“g” stands for full breaking capacity, and “a” stands for partial range breaking capacity. Furthermore, our tag fuses include gG, gM, gR, aM, etc.

Applications of Tag Fuses:

These fuses from the Fuses, Sockets & Circuit Breakers family protect anything from overcurrent and electrical surges during overloads. They come in a range of application categories to suit a wide range of industrial applications, such as:

These fuses are designed for : “General purpose use” protection (gG type) or motor protection (gM type). This fuse range insures an excellent current limitation for all overloads on a large range of applications. Their size cannot allow exchange by other fuses of higher rating in their range. They are screwed into fuseholders or bolted directly onto busbars, or in fuse interruptors disconnectors

Eaton Bussmann Series Bolted Tag Fuse - British Standard Eaton Bussmann Series bolted tag fuse is essentially a fuse that is fitted with brackets, these brackets allow the fuse to be bolted onto a fuse holder. Predominantly, this type of fuse is used within installations as a "weak link". They are designed to break when a fault occurs, such as an overcurrent or short circuit - they are a safety and damage measure. Cooper Bussman's fuses are commonly found within a multitude of industrial applications, electrical equipment and wiring systems Features & Benefits • The low-temperature rise enables the fuse to be suitable for high-density mounting applications • Fuse links, specifically designed for the protection of applications • Conforms to industry standards • Low voltage fuse • Suitable for three-phase applications • Suitable for type 2 co-ordinated applications as defined in IEC 947-4 • Low power loss, typically 20% lower than the requirements of BS88
