The Festo SIEN-M8B-NO-K-L is a small inductive proximity sensor designed to detect metal objects at short range. It is commonly used in compact machinery, automation panels, and tight installation spaces where reliability matters more than complexity. With an M8 barrel body and a sensing distance of 1.5 mm, it is suited for precise detection of object presence. This sensor operates on a 10-30 V DC supply and is intended for standard industrial control systems with DC inputs.
This model uses an NPN normally closed (NC) output. In its default state, the output remains active and switches when a target is detected. This configuration is often chosen for applications where a fail-safe signal is preferred.
