The Festo SIEN-M8B-PO-S-L is a compact inductive proximity sensor that detects metal objects without physical contact. It is commonly used in automation systems where space is limited and reliable switching is required. With a 45 mm body length and M8 threaded design, it fits easily into tight mounting locations on machines and assemblies. This sensor operates on a 10-30 V DC supply, making it adaptable to most industrial control systems.
The sensor uses inductive sensing technology, which means it detects metal targets without touching them. The PNP normally closed (NC) output switches when a metal object enters the sensing range, allowing the control system to respond instantly.
The SIEN-M8B-PO-S-L is designed for use in harsh conditions where dust, moisture, and vibration are common. Its IP65 and IP67 ratings protect it against water spray, dust ingress, and temporary immersion.
