The Festo MS6-SV-1/2-D-10V24-2M8 is a pneumatic soft-start valve used to pressurise compressed air systems safely. Its main job is to let air into the system gradually instead of all at once. This helps prevent sudden movement of cylinders, air tools, or actuators when a machine is started. It is typically installed in industrial air preparation units where controlled startup and operator safety are required.
When the system is powered on, this valve slowly builds pressure until normal operating pressure is reached. Once stable, it fully opens to allow normal airflow. If power is lost, it shuts off the air supply to protect equipment and operators.
It is often part of a safety circuit, working alongside pressure regulators, filters, and shut-off valves.
