Bootlace Ferrule Strips

Sizes 0 to 2mm2 of ferrules in the French color code are available. With the aid of a specific tool and automated feed action, cables may be quickly cut, stripped, and terminated with each pack of ferrules, which has 10 strips of 50. Effective cable preparation and significant time savings are made possible by the automated ferrule feed mechanism. What is the difference between un-insulated and insulated crimp tools?

While insulated crimp tools have been VDE tested up to 1000 V and are intended for usage where electrical current is present, uninsulated crimp tools are commonly utilized for general purposes.

How do you maintain the Bootlace Ferrule Strips?

• Lubrication of moving components, such as axles, should be done often.
• Lubrication* is advised whenever the tool is exposed to pollutants, at least every 10,000 cycles.
• The crimping die nests should also be adjusted and examined. When the tool's pre-load drastically drops, the pressure adjustment axle has to be readjusted.

The Importance of a High-Quality Crimp

Two crimps happen simultaneously when a crimping tool is used on a terminal. The electrical link between the conductor and terminal is the first. The insulating crimp, which relieves tension and strain from vibration, is the alternative. The electrical connection needs to be gas-tight and free of gaps between the wire strands and the termination. Any vacancies that are present can lead to corrosion, which can lead to resistance and too much heat, both of which can harm the electrical connection. A complete, gas-tight crimp will be achieved if a high-quality crimping tool is used, avoiding further degradation of the electrical connection and insulation rupture.
