Evaluation Board for AD603 Low Noise 90MHz Variable Gain Amplifier
The AD603-EVALZ Evaluation Board is for the AD603, a low noise, voltage-controlled amplifier for use in RF and IF AGC systems. The gain is controlled at a high impedance, low bias differential input; the scaling is 25mV/dB, requiring a gain control voltage of only 1V to span the central 40dB of the gain range.
Linear-in-dB gain control
Pin-programmable gain ranges
-11dB to +31dB with 90MHz bandwidth
9dB to 51dB with 9MHz bandwidth
Any intermediate range, for example -1dB to +41dB with 30MHz bandwidth
Bandwidth independent of variable gain
1.3nV/√Hz input noise spectral density
±0.5dB typical gain accuracy
Variable Gain Amplifiers (VGA)
Variable-Gain or Voltage-Controlled Amplifiers are electronic differential amplifiers that vary their gain depending on a control voltage. Applications include audio level compression, synthesizers and amplitude modulation.
