What are DIN Rail Power Supplies?

What is DIN Rail Mounting?
In control cabinets, enclosures, racks, and rack panels, electrical equipment is mounted on DIN rails, which are metal rails. Types of DIN Rail power supply
A DIN rail is a type of metal rail that is frequently used to attach industrial control devices, such as circuit breakers, within equipment racks. Typically, these items are It is constructed from cold-rolled carbon steel sheets with a brilliant zinc-plated or chromated surface finish. Although they are made of metal, they are primarily intended to give mechanical support; they are not utilized as busbars to carry electricity. However, they could act as a chassis grounding connection.

The CP-E range of DIN Rail PSUs from ABB offer enhanced functionality. The switch mode power supply units are economic and can be operated at an ambient temperature of up to 70°C. With adjustable output voltages, they can also be adapted to the application required.
This range offers output voltages from 5 V dc to 48 V dc at output currents of 06.25 A to 20 A. Thermal efficiency of up to 90% means that there is low power and heat dissipation allowing operation of the PSU without any forced cooling.

Product Application Information
The primary switch mode power supply offers two voltage input ranges, enabling the supply with AC or DC. Furthermore it is equipped with two generous capacitors, which ensure mains buffering of at least 30 ms (at 230 V ac).
