Splice Connectors

If you are looking for high-quality splice connectors that will effectively perform the job, then you are at the right place. Enrgtech offers a wide variety of splice connectors from some of the leading brands in the industry. With us, you can be assured of products' quality and reliability and timely delivery to your doorsteps.

Splice connectors generally consist of a plastic clip with a sharp metal inserted in it that helps cut through the jackets insulated with plastic of any two wires and then crimp them up. Splice connectors are used effectively to make splices connections quickly with two or more two wires. These splices are crimped together and soldered. When the power is conducted from a source cable to the table next to it is transferred at an unacceptable conductivity and can then pull-out resistance performance level.

How to Use Splice Connectors?

You can follow a few easy steps to get the job done correctly to form splice connections. Some of these steps in the sequence are as follows:

  1. Strip off one inch of the inner foil shield and the insulation jacket towards the end of the cables that you will splice together. The colored wires covered with plastic insulating jackets need to be left unattended.
  2. Then insert one of the individual interior wires left alone from one cable into the hole of the splice connector. Insert the end of the wire in. many connectors come with a clear side so that you can see whether or not the wire has been pushed in. Then you need to insert another same-colored wire from the cable into the other hole of the splice connector.
  3. Then use pliers and set the splice connectors between its jaws. Using the pliers, you can apply the proper pressure to snap the top and the bottom parts of the splice connector. The splice connector is then cut through the wires and clamped up to create a secure splice connection. Then repeat the same procedure with the remaining wires of the two cables.
  4. In the end, you can use a plastic zip tie to secure the wires together and prevent the splice connectors from being pulled apart. You can wrap the zip tie around the bottom of the insulation jacket of the cables you are operating and tie them to secure it. By using scissors, you can trim down the end of the zip tie.

Types of Splice Connectors

Crimp Butt Splice Terminal

Crimp butt splice connectors are shaped like tubes and consist of two crimps to join the wires in line. They commonly come with a metal tube put inside an insulated covering. Crimp splice connectors can perform several functions in electrical circuits like changing, lengthening, or repairing conductors in the electrical circuit.

Crimp Close End Terminal

Crimp close-end terminals are used to seal wires protected from moisture or air to prevent corrosion. You can find various sizes of crimp close-end terminals to suit the multiple diameters of cables. If you want more flexibility, you can also find adjustable crimp closed-end terminal connectors.

Crimp Barrel Foil Terminal

Crimp barrel foil terminals are connectors primarily used to provide a reliable connection and efficient heat dissipation.

Push Wire Terminal

Push wire terminals are connectors that are mostly used for providing reliable, secure, and fast connections and distribution of connectors in electrical housing applications.

TE Connectivity PIDG Closed Barrel Butt Splice PIDG (Pre-Insulated Diamond Grip) wire crimp splice terminals designed for uniform reliability in the most difficult circuit environments. These PIDG wire splice terminals consist of a precision-formed high conductivity copper body and barrel. The wire barrel is surrounded with both a copper and nylon colour coded sleeve. The copper sleeve surrounding the barrel provides improved wire insulation support after crimping allowing the wire to bend without fraying the insulation or breaking the conductor. The nylon sleeves are colour coded according to wire-size to assist with identification. Inside the PIDG splice terminal wire barrel are serrations which provide maximum contact and tensile strength after crimping. The construction of these PIDG terminals and the use of specialised tool dies allows for uniform insulation thickness under crimping pressure. This pressure is then transmitted evenly to the centre of the crimping area to produce a uniform and reliable crimp. Available with various wire and barrel sizes, these PIDG splice terminals offer a versatile solution to a wide range of wiring applications Features & Benefits High conductivity copper body Copper sleeve for improved wire insulation support Serrations in wire barrel for maximum contact and tensile strength Colour coded sleeves for easy wire size and tooling identification Design enables a reliable and uniform crimp Product Application Information These PIDG splice terminals are suitable for use in a wide range of applications with many terminals meeting or exceeding the requirements of MIL-T-7928, Type II, Class 1 and 2. Applications include instruments/control, lighting, power supplies, panel boxes, transportation, lifting equipment, motors, aerospace and appliances. Splices Red 0.25 - 1.6 mm² Blue 1.0 - 2.6 mm² Yellow 2.7 - 6.6 mm² Approvals UL Duraseal Heatshrinkable TE heat shrinkable pre-insulated nylon splices and crimp terminals provide reliable connections, especially where environmental sealing is important. Covering cable sizes from 0.5mm - 6.0mm², they are designed for use where water or condensation may be encountered, or where abrasion or mechanical abuse could be problematic. To complete a joint, the cable connector is crimped in the traditional manner, and the sleeving is then heated to shrink around the cable insulation. Special adhesive flows during the heating to seal the joint. • The TE Duraseal kit is especially suited for use in automotive (approved by most car manufacturers) and marine builds, where environmental sealing is important • Kits are also available comprising various heat-shrinkable pre-insulated nylon splices and terminals, covering ranges from 0.5mm² to 6.0mm².
