Pluggable I/O Connectors

Pluggable I/O connectors are very crucial for interconnection systems that demand high-speed modular components. These pluggable connectors are characterized by interfaces that experience high-speed I/O; they also support higher data throughput as compared to traditional copper interfaces such as RJ47. For applications where high bandwidth is demanded, these high-rate pluggable I/O connectors are compatible with the increasing number of such powerful applications.

These  Pluggable I/O Connectors are embedded in an innovative I/O interface in the component they are being configured with. Design flexibility is characterized and ensured by letting the customer make a choice between transceiver modules. Moreover, linked cable assemblies are based on the application they work with. A range of standards are supported, including;

  • Ethernet
  • InfiniBand
  • SAS

Types of I/O interfaces:

  • XFP (10 Gbit Small Form-factor Pluggable): Supports bandwidth of up to 10 Gbit/s.
  • QSFP (Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable): Supports data rates of up to 40 Gbit/s with 10 Gbit/s per channel.
  • SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable): enable bandwidth of up to 4 Gbit/s.
  • zQSFP+ (z-Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable Plus): Enables bandwidth of more than 100 Gbit/s with 28 Gbit/s per medium.
  • SFP+ (Small Form-factor Pluggable Plus): Supports bandwidth of up to 16 Gbit/s.
  • CFP (C Form-factor pluggable): Enables data rates of up to 100 Gbit/s with 10 Gbit/s per medium.
