Non Resettable Fuses

Non resettable fuses are designed to protect essential electrical equipment by breaking the circuit upon fault detection. These are mounting type fuses that are mounted onto a printed circuit board. They feature two extended wires and a body designed for single use only. In addition, they are available with varying levels of resistance, voltages, and current ranges. 

How Do These Fuses Work?

These fuses work similarly to the performance of circuit breakers in circuits. The integrated metal strip melts when a fault like a short circuit or overload is detected. This stops the current flow and protects the electrical devices and circuits from being damaged. During tripping, when a fuse blows, it is advised to replace the fuses as they are non-resettable.

Types of Non-resettable Fuses

Non resettable fuses are differentiated based on their size, current ratings, and resistance level measured in ohms. They are also categorized by their body materials, such as thermoplastic and glass ceramic. Furthermore, they are divided by their mounting type and are referred to as non-resettable surface mount or board mount fuses. These fuses offer varied maximum and minimum operating temperatures.
