The Boston Blacking Company, which was a manufacturer of leather dyes and coloring for the shoemaking industry, was founded in 1889 in Chelsea, Massachusetts, USA. By the end of the 1920s, the Boston Blacking Company was established in more than 12 countries on three continents and had hired over a thousand skilled technicians and chemists. After that, various products were introduced under the Bostik brand in the early 1940s and took on the Bostik company name in 1960. In 1980, the company was taken into custody by a Connecticut group called Emhart Corporation, which was nine years later bought up by Black & Decker. Black & Decker split up the chemical and mechanical activities of the firm to leave Bostik as a stand-alone matter.
With the arrival of 1990, a French oil and gas group purchased the company in its entirety and merged it with their own group. The company produces standard-quality products for fields like building and construction, industrial solutions, and consumer and DIY tools. The company has patented over 9000 technologies since its inception in 1889, ranging from aerospace interiors to Blu-tack. This has immensely developed the corporation, which has grown from a domestic dye manufacturer to an international industry leader.
