It is zero insertion force where the pins are basically carried by the microprocessors, and so these are inserted into the socket connections. No force is needed to install and remove the processors, and that is why these are named ZIF sockets. 

PGA Socket

This type of socket is designed with a set of pointing pins and has processors in the form of a square shape. The pins of these sockets are usually aligned in a regular matrix order. There is a gap available between the pins. And it would facilitate the processor to work by providing the current.
