The RS Pro 3 phase 415V transformers are earthed using the earth studs provided. Its robust range of enclosed style variable transformers for surface floor or wall mounting surfaces. Its smooth control allows the variac to be set to any voltage within its range. The advanced design provides excellent electrical specification that is matched by rugged and compact construction. The variac has a long operating life and the life of a variac is essentially the same as that of any standard fixed ratio power transformer.
Applications:
Variable auto transformers require less windings and a smaller core than a regular transformer, allowing them to be used in smaller applications. For constant supply of the same voltage on each appliance, it compensates for voltage drops on longer feed circuits. They are used to adjust the transformer voltage in order to keep the transformer voltage constant within varying load.
