The Festo MS4-DL-1/4 is a soft-start valve that gradually builds air pressure when a pneumatic system is switched on. Instead of sending full air pressure instantly, it allows pressure to rise progressively, helping protect cylinders, actuators, and connected equipment from sudden movement or shock. With a G 1/4 port size and a flow rate of up to 2000 L/min, this valve fits well into compact pneumatic assemblies that require controlled start-up without restricting normal operating airflow.
When air supply is applied, the valve initially limits flow and slowly increases pressure in the downstream system. Once a set pressure level is reached, the valve opens fully, allowing normal airflow. This simple process helps prevent damage, noise, and unsafe motion during machine start-up.
The MS4-DL-1/4 is built into Festo’s MS4 modular air preparation series, making it easy to integrate with filters, regulators, and lubricators from the same system. Its compact body allows installation in tight control cabinets or near machinery without layout issues.
