The SMC KEA06 residual-pressure relief valve safely releases trapped air pressure from pneumatic systems. It is designed for situations where compressed air remains in the line even after the main supply is shut off. By venting this leftover pressure, the valve helps reduce the risk of sudden air release during maintenance or equipment adjustment. This valve is typically installed in industrial pneumatic setups where safety and controlled depressurisation are required.
When the air supply is turned off, pressure can remain trapped inside cylinders, hoses, or actuators. The KEA06 automatically releases this residual pressure, allowing the system to return to a safe, zero-pressure state before work begins.
It is often used in combination with shut-off valves or air preparation units to ensure pressure is fully relieved before servicing.
