Loctite 55 is a ready-to-use thread sealing cord designed for sealing metal and plastic pipe threads. It is commonly used on water, gas, compressed air, and industrial fluid lines where a quick and reliable seal is needed. Supplied in a 50-metre blister container, it is suitable for both regular maintenance work and new installations. Unlike liquid sealants or PTFE tape, this cord allows controlled application without mess and works immediately after assembly.
The sealing cord is wrapped directly around the male thread before tightening. Once assembled, it fills the gaps between threads to prevent leaks without hardening or curing.
Loctite 55 is designed for quick, clean handling. The cord does not fray or tear during application and stays in place while the fitting is tightened. If adjustments are needed, the joint can be loosened and realigned without losing the seal.
