The ZF GS100502 is a Cherry-designed NPN Hall-effect sensor used to detect magnetic fields in basic switching and position-sensing applications. It operates over a broad supply voltage range of 4.5 V to 24 V DC, making it easy to integrate into various control systems without additional regulation. This sensor is typically used where contactless detection is preferred over mechanical switches, especially in environments where wear, dust, or vibration are a concern.
The GS100502 responds to the presence of a magnetic field and switches its NPN output accordingly. When a magnet enters the sensing range, the output changes state, triggering relays, PLC inputs, or logic circuits.
The wide supply voltage range allows the sensor to be used in both low-voltage electronics and standard industrial control systems. Its current consumption remains low, making it suitable for continuous operation.
