The Fluke 1630-2 FC is a clamp-style earth and ground resistance tester that measures grounding systems without disconnecting rods or shutting anything down. It measures resistance up to 1.5 kΩ and is built for high-energy environments with CAT III 1000 V and CAT IV 600 V safety ratings. This makes it suitable for live electrical systems where safety cannot be compromised. It is primarily used by electricians, utility technicians, and maintenance teams who need fast, safe field ground testing.
This tester uses a clamp method, so you can measure earth loop resistance without driving extra stakes or breaking the ground connection. You clamp it around the conductor and take the reading.
The 1630-2 FC is rugged, lightweight, and easy to handle with one hand. It has a clear LCD screen that is readable in bright outdoor conditions. The clamp jaw opens wide enough to fit standard grounding conductors used at sites. It is designed for repeated daily use, not occasional lab testing.
Anywhere proper grounding matters, this tool fits in without extra setup.
