L16 Micro Linear Actuators The L16 series miniature linear actuators from Actuonix are a unique line of actuators designed for a new generation of motion‐enabled products. Never before seen in a device of this size, these tiny linear actuators are an excellent alternative to designing your own push/pull mechanisms. The L16 series of miniature linear actuators are complete, self-contained linear motion devices. They have position feedback for sophisticated position control capabilities, end of stroke limit switches for two position automation or RC servo. Depending on the speed and force configurations required, there are several gear ratios available. Option S – End of Stroke Limit Switches The L16-S actuators are ideal for manually controlled applications and simple two position automated mechanisms. They have limit switches that turn off power to the motor when the actuator reaches within 0.5 mm of the end of stroke. The S model cannot be used with the LAC control board. Option P – Potentiometer Position Feedback The L16-P actuators do not have a built-in controller but do provide analogue position feedback. The L16-P actuator can be used as a linear servo by connecting to an external controller. Ideally suited to be used in automatically controlled positioning systems, but can also be driven manually. Connect to an LAC board for easy interface with any of the following control signals: Analogue 0-3.3v or 4 mA to 20 mA, or digital 0-5v PWM, 1 ms to 2 ms Standard RC or USB. Using the L16-P as a linear servo, it is able to be used in RC toys and robotics. Several gear ratios are available to give you varied speed/force configurations. The P16 is the next generation DC linear actuator from Actuonix. Featuring a compact side by side design with a planetary gearbox, these units offer higher speeds, higher forces and longer life than our other units. The P16 is powerful and weighing in at 95g-140g, it's light enough to mount almost anywhere.These units are operated by reversing polarity on the actuator's two leads. The "S" series has end of stroke limit switches to that will turn the unit off if it runs into its end stop. These can be run with a DPDT switch, push button switch, wireless controller, relay or for RC a you can use a brushed reversible DC motor controller.
