RS PRO Clearance Gauge, 0.025 mm → 0.175 mm
This clearance gauge provides an easy but accurate way to measure the clearance space between hidden surfaces. It's particularly useful for measuring the clearance in split bearings or in situations where feeler gauges can't be inserted.
Also known as plastigauge, this strip of soft material can be sandwiched between the bearing surface on a shaft and the bearing shell. When you tighten the bearing cap, the plastigauge is flattened and you can then figure out the clearance by comparing the flattened plastigauge to the supplied calibration card.
This clearance gauge is used to measure distances ranging from 0.025 mm to 0.175 mm. These gauges from the RS PRO range have been thoroughly tested for reliability. They're ideal for applications such as measuring the clearance in pipe-flanges, head gaskets, injection moulding tools and cylinder heads.
