Self clinching Standoff or press-joining is a metal-forming procedure for bulk sheets that aims to combine thin metal sheets without the use of extra components. With the help of a mechanical process, clinching is employed to connect objects that represent no electrical conductance, like polymers or plastic-oriented materials.
Clinching does not demand the surfaces that are already cleaned, unlike the adhesives material usually demands before applying it. Clinching is the on-the-spot and very reliable connecting method. Whereas adhesive connecting usually needs more time to stick strongly and persist the joined objects. Environmental factors and the effects of aging have less of an impact on clinched joints.
