Circular Connector Dust Caps

Circular dust caps are exclusively manufactured for unfavorable conditions experienced in the environment; the prime goal is to protect circular connectors and make a secure and reliable connection across the users in both threaded and bayonet versions. They are primarily designed to fulfill military criteria or standards. As stated above, these connectors are designed to employ rugged connectors in a difficult situation or atmosphere. Consider adding a Dust Cap to your connectors in order to assist you in meeting an IP rating standard that might be necessary to meet a safety standard for your circular connector. Dust caps can help keep water, dust, sand, and debris from getting into your connector.

Types of Circular Connect Dust Caps

  • Port dust caps: threaded into connector Adapters to offer protection from environmental factors, including bad weather.
  • TPE: TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) is a versatile material that is strong, long-lasting, and suitable for both harsh and soft situations.
  • Fiber dust caps: Fiber dust caps incorporate a cord called fiber. These fiber cords are typically used to protect the cap and the connector to ensure a reliable, durable, and scalable connection across the system.
  • Connector dust caps with chains: Dust caps with chains can be utilized in more challenging conditions because of the cord's plating.

IP Ratings

The grade supported by the IEC 60529 standard, known as an IP (ingress protection) rating, indicates how waterproof and dust-proof a component is. Two letters (IP) and two digits (n) make up IP ratings.

As may be seen below, the numbers represent various levels of protection. The item's protection against solids is shown by the first number, while its protection against liquids is indicated by the second number.

  • IP69 & IP69K - Fully dust-tight and capable of submersion for extended periods of time in 1 m or deeper. Streams and hot pressures can be handled by IP69K.
  • IP66 - Completely dust light having the potential to manage great water jets up close.
  • IP68 – Dust-tight is possible to submerge up to 1m+.
  • IP67 - A complete dust-oriented light has the potential to be encountered underneath by up to 1m.
