LED Indication - Discrete
LED Indication – Discrete is a distinct semiconductor diode designed to be mounted individually on an appropriate thermal-mechanical package. These LEDs are small and bright for status indication on PCBs. These array configuration devices are distinguished by case/package, viewing angles, wavelengths, current ratings, forward voltage, colour, and mounting types. In addition, the configurations are comprised of a common cathode or anode and bidirectional.
Small Package Design of LED Indication - Discrete:
The size of some packages often allows for advanced design. LED manufacturers strive to provide as much light output as possible in the smallest possible package. A limitation of isolation design (single LED) is usually the thermal resistance (°C/W). The low thermal LED package also allows for better heat transfer from the die.
Discrete Mid-Power LEDs:
In recent years, many LED manufacturers have switched to new products called mid-power LEDs because there are more distribution lines and lamps. These packages are often referred to as LED packages. The lower cost and lower total illumination allow more LEDs to be used per meter of line, resulting in a smoother, more diffused light pattern that replicates the soft light output customers have grown accustomed to.

After creating an individual LED product line, LED manufacturers have concluded that packing many LED arrays into one thermomechanical package has many advantages. One reason is the growing need for constant colour temperature (CCT) in lighting applications. One of the advantages of LED arrays is that LED manufacturers provide electronic control of individual packages and individual window and lens configurations in a small body.
